JUNIOR AND SENIOR
GAMES FRIDAY
2006-2007 Youth Assembly Programs
Mind Control at St. Joe's December 8th
All New Canadian High School Production
Mind Control speaks to young people in their own language, hosted by a celebrity with youth credibility, accompanied by music video clips, and fast paced graphics, the program effectively changes Mind Control from the initially perceived negative into a life empowering positive. With a huge 3-screen high-energy experience, Mind Control, engages the audience with a rock montage of Orwellian style pop culture.
It starts with fast paced images of control, from parents, from the media, from society at large, incorporating archival clips of compliance and conformity. These images become a parody as the show disarms the audience's preconceptions of what they think "controls" their minds. They learn that, in fact, THEY are the only ones in control of their minds, and in control of situations they find themselves in.
Three Giant Screens
In a flood of fast-paced, powerful imagery, the multi-media assembly programs - Mind Control and Ace - created by Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada utilize the latest DVD technology to produce a sensory experience that will have students talking for days. The audience will be engaged by the poignant stories of real young people, celebrity interviews, clips from major motion pictures, and a contemporary soundtrack, viewed on three giant screens (final set-up size 15' X 45').
Each multi-media show focuses on alcohol and other drug prevention, cutting-edge brain research outlining alcohol's effects on the adolescent brain, and the need for student leadership and activism.
